   Pat Brundidge, 98, was inducted into the Lakes Area USBC Bowling Association Hall of Fame on June 2, 2026, as a Pioneer in Bowling.

   Brundidge has had an incredibly successful bowling career that began when she was in junior high in the 1930s. Her school in the Twin Cities took a field trip to a local bowling alley, and she quickly took to the sport. She has been bowling ever since.

  Brundidge recalled that when she started bowling, a game cost 5 cents if you brought a partner to set up the pins for you, and 10 cents if you did not. That is quite a contrast to today, when an average game can cost $4 to $8, not including shoe rentals or food. Times certainly have changed.

   While her initial skill drew her to bowling, it was the people who kept her coming back for decades. Brundidge often talked about the group of women she bowled with for more than 40 years. A social butterfly who enjoyed meeting like-minded people and staying busy, she found that bowling provided the perfect atmosphere to do both.

   Over the years, Brundidge spent countless hours in bowling alleys throughout the area, including in the Twin Cities, Pine River, Crosby, Brainerd, Walker and other communities across the Lakeland area.

   Age has never been a limitation for Brundidge. For decades, she has remained active through a variety of hobbies and activities, and she credits that active lifestyle, at least in part, for helping her stay in such good shape.

   She continues to bowl today and has already signed up for a winter league.

   At 98 years old, Brundidge’s bowling career is still rolling along.
