   The Longville Area Community Choir’s year-long search for a new director and piano accompanist came to a successful close this summer, paving the way for the group to return to the stage with a new and ambitious Christmas program.

   After canceling its annual Christmas concert last year, the choir is looking forward to resuming the holiday tradition with “Lights of Hope,” scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6.

   The choir’s new director is Nadja Jorgenson of Walker, daughter of former Salem Lutheran Church pastor Trish Jorgenson. Nadja brings a strong background in choral music, vocal performance, vocal training and choir leadership at the college level. She currently serves as choir director at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville.

   Joining her as the choir’s new piano accompanist is Sue Nelson of Federal Dam. Nelson has a background in music education and has sung with the Longville Area Community Choir for several years. An accomplished vocal soloist, she currently serves as music director at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Longville.

   With its new leadership team in place, the choir is preparing an exciting program for this year’s Christmas concert, “Lights of Hope.”

   Anyone interested in singing with the Longville Area Community Choir is welcome to join. Rehearsals are held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville.

   The “Lights of Hope” Christmas concert will be held Sunday, Dec. 6.
