In Loving Memory of Gloria Marie Procopio
Gloria Marie Procopio, age 77, of Remer, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at Deer River Hospital with Daniel and Carol at her side.
Gloria was born on April 26, 1949, in Little Falls, Minnesota, to Arthur and Alvian Zylka. She grew up surrounded by family and carried that love of family and caring for others throughout her entire life.
Gloria was first married to Chester Cleveland, and together they lived in Boy River and raised their two sons, Corey and Chris. Gloria was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family, especially her grandson, Brandon Cleveland.
Gloria spent much of her working life caring for others. She worked as a paraprofessional in the schools and also as a home healthcare aide. Caring for people was not simply a job for Gloria—it was a part of who she was. She had a kind and giving heart and always found ways to help those around her.
About 15 years ago, Gloria married Daniel Lee Procopio of Remer, beginning a beautiful chapter of life together. Dan and Gloria did everything together. They enjoyed their daily walks, coffee with friends and family, traveling, playing cards, and simply spending time together. The Procopio family fell in love with Gloria right from the start, and she quickly became an important and dearly loved part of the family.
Gloria was a devoted wife and a wonderful caregiver to Dan following his stroke. She stood by his side with love, patience, and strength, giving back the same kind of care she had given so many others throughout her life.
Gloria loved the simple pleasures of life. She loved to read, play card games with family, tend to her flowers, care for her lawn, and work in her many gardens. Her flowers and gardens reflected the love and attention she gave to everything she cared about. She was a woman of strong faith who loved attending church and found comfort and strength in God.
Gloria also had a sweet side. She loved deep-fried shrimp and Dove chocolate. And while she loved taking care of just about everything and everyone, there was one chore that definitely did not make her list of favorites—doing the dishes.
Gloria will be remembered for her loving heart, her generosity, her faith, her sense of humor, and the countless ways she cared for the people she loved. She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply, but who will carry her memory and the love she gave them in their hearts forever.
