   The Community Church of Walker United Church of Christ will continue its Gazebo Concert Series, “Music Under the Pines,” with “The Musical Event of the Summer” at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the church, located at the corner of Highway 371 and Tianna Drive in Walker.

   The evening will feature blockbuster hits from Broadway and the big screen, directed by Joanna Aamodt with Sabbastian Wilson-Webb serving as accompanist.

   The program will include solo performances by area musicians Greg Webb, Rick and Leslie James, Kiki Carter, Katelin De Lorenzo, Murray and Julie Bright, Linda and Ken Barber, Connie Leyendecker, Sue Grage and Mitchel Jon, along with a 20-plus-member community choir.

   Seating will be provided, although guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The concert will be held rain or shine, with the performance moving indoors if necessary.

   The concert is free to attend. A free-will donation will be accepted to benefit the musicians.
