The Northwoods Art and Book Festival was held on Saturday, August 8 in Hackensack and was a roaring success. A record number of visitors came to enjoy “the longest running art and literature event in Minnesota” at which 65 artists and 35 authors share their work. For one magical day, the streets come alive with artists, authors, music, children’s activities, food, drinks and an incredible sense of community. It is a celebration of creativity in all its forms—and a wonderful reminder of what can happen when people work together.

We’d also like to acknowledge all the volunteers, in-kind support, community involvement, donations and the time and energy put into making this event what it is today. The festival continues to grow, and word is spreading that this is an event not to be missed.
