   The third of Longville’s four blood drives will be held on Wednesday, August 19th, and St. Edward’s Catholic Church, sponsored by the Longville Lions, and we still have open appointments. You may have seen the commercials about the crisis that America’s blood supply is facing. This happens because people are out doing more in this part of the year and so are subject to accidents, etc. Along with that comes the irony of availability to give blood because everyone is busy! Longville works with the Vitalant organization, a very well respected organization based in Fargo, servicing about 70 hospitals in the area who depend on their blood supply. We in Longville have proven to be a wonderfully reliable source of blood over the years. We like to think of ourselves as “the little train that could” or “the little community with the big heart”.
