   If you thought the hottest thing in Longville this week was the weather, you haven’t seen a determined turtle sprinting toward the finish line.

   Week 8 of the Longville Turtle Races brought sunshine and smiling faces. The heat didn’t slow down the crowd. Families gathered around, kids cheered at the top of their lungs, and turtle race veterans confidently shared their “winning strategies”—which, as always, had absolutely no effect on what the turtles decided to do.

This week’s Grand Winner was three year old Aakash Verma from Maple Grove, MN. 

   In a fun twist of sibling luck, 2 brothers stole the spotlight this week. One brother claimed victory in the Slowpoke Race, and the other came out on top in the Grand Champion Race. Family talent or beginners’ luck? We just aren’t sure!

   Everyone who came out to enjoy another fun-filled afternoon in the Turtle Racing Capital of the World had a great day. From first-time visitors to longtime fans, the laughter was just as plentiful as the sun.
