Motorists traveling between Outing and Remer will encounter a detour after the Minnesota Department of Transportation closed sections of Highway 6 beginning Aug. 3 for culvert replacements as part of a 17-mile resurfacing project. The highway is scheduled to be closed south of Remer through Aug. 5. It will then be closed about two miles north of Outing Aug. 6-7, and about 1.5 miles north of Outing Aug. 10-12. Through traffic will be detoured via Cass County Roads 1 and 3, Highway 169 and Highway 200, while paving and other roadway improvements continue through late August. Motorists traveling along Highway 6 can expect flagging operations and a pilot car where repaving is occurring. Work will also occur at County Road 7 to realign and improve access, but the intersection will remain open to traffic.
