   Warren “Bake” Baker from Longville, Minnesota, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on April 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to family, service to country, and a life well lived. He is survived by his wife, Marie, 6 children, Steve (Jane), Dave (Eileen), Mary (Mark), Barb (Pat), Kathy (Jay), Kevin (Katie), 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.  

   Warren was born in Sheffield, Iowa on April 3, 1924 to Lillian and Wellington Baker.  At age 23 he met Marie on a blind date and they married 6 months later.  He and, his loving wife, Marie shared 78 wonderful years of marriage—a partnership defined by deep affection, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Together they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring memories that will be treasured for generations.

   A proud veteran of World War II, Warren served in the Air Force in the South Pacific in the 321st Squadron of the 90th Bombardment Group, the famed “Jolly Rogers.” His service reflected a quiet courage and steadfast sense of duty that remained with him throughout his life.

   Warren was a longtime resident of Longville, where he was widely known for his friendly nature and easygoing charm. A true “people person” with a gift of gab, he had a natural ability to connect with others, and he could sell anything to anybody—qualities that served him well in his real estate career with Baker Realty. 

   In retirement, Warren and Marie opened Marie’s Shirt Shop, which became less of a business and more of a shared hobby and gathering place during his retirement years. He delighted in conversation and welcomed customers as friends, turning everyday encounters into lasting connections. The two of them ran their Shirt Shop until he was 100 years old.

   Above all, Warren was devoted to his family. He took great pride in each generation, offering wisdom, humor, and a steady, loving presence. His life was a testament to commitment—to his country, his community, and especially to those he loved most.

   He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

   A service honoring Warren’s memory and celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 2nd at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Longville, Minnesota. Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM. Luncheon reception immediately following the service.
