  Stuart Sonstegard, 52, of Longville passed away on December 5th 2025 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. 

   Stuart was born on July 5th, 1973 to Jack and Janelle (Carlson) Sonstegard of Longville. He attended Longville Elementary School, was a member of the Boy Scouts, and played on Longville’s Tee-ball and Little League teams. He then attended Northland High School where he participated in football, basketball, wrestling and baseball. Stuart graduated from Northland in 1991 then attended college and got a 2-year degree to fix small appliances. Later he took some classes online towards a business degree.

   Stuart met and married his wife Jessine Pike in 1995 and soon moved to Minneapolis. In October of 1995, they welcomed their son Jeffrey into their lives. In the summer of 1996 they lost their son and soon moved back to Longville. Then in the summer of 1997, they welcomed their daughter Cassandra into the world. Then in December of 2009, Stuart lost his wife in an untimely accident.

   Stuart grew up working alongside his dad catching minnow for Longville Bait Company. While he was living in Minneapolis he worked at Fingerhut. After moving back to Longville, he held such jobs as: bartender at the Docksider and Woman Lake Inn; security for Menards; sales clerk at Dollar General in Longville; delivered packages for UPS; and checked boats for invasive species at the boat landing for Honor Guards.

   In his free time, Stuart was a HUGE football fan, always cheering for the Vikings. He played on many dart teams in the Longville Dart League, until a wrist issue stopped him from playing. He also played a short time on the Longville softball team. Stuart also liked playing his PlayStation, fishing, daily phone calls with his best friend Rick Monroe, spending time with his nephew Rylee when he was visiting in the summer, snuggling with the family dogs Benji and Chewie, and some crocheting to keep his wrist limber.

   Stuart is survived by his daughter Cassandra Sonstegard; brother Robert (Becky) Sonstegard; sisters Susie Sonstegard and Patricia (John Juracek) Sonstegard; many nieces and nephew; uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends.

   Stuart is proceeded in death by his wife Jessine (Pike) Sonstegard; son Jeffrey Sonstegard; parents Jack and Janelle (Carlson) Sonstegard; grandparents Don and Sible (Winn) Carlson, and Carl and June (Harder) Sonstegard; uncles Donald “Eugene” Carlson, Edward “Wayne” Carlson, Art Johnson and Jeffry Sonstegard; and aunts Brenda Carlson and Susan Sonstegard.

   A Celebration of Life will be held for Stuart on April 25th at the Docksider in Longville from Noon until 4.
