Gardeners can learn about bees with Longville’s Petal Pushers April 28
Longville’s Petal Pushers Garden Club, in its 29th year of helping keep Longville beautiful, opens its new season on April 28 with a timely and crucial topic—Bees!
Join the group at St. Edward’s Church on Tuesday, April 28 at 10 to learn from Ed Waggoner of Mann Lake Bee Company of Hackensack, a leading provider of beekeeping supplies and services across the United States.
This “get-acquainted” meeting also is a great opportunity to share extra seeds and plants and any extra gardening supplies. Whether you are a Wannabe, Green Thumb, or Master Gardener, you are welcome to attend a meeting to see if you’d like to join the Club.
Meetings are scheduled for the 4th Tuesday each month and include informative and fun presentations, a gardening activity, or visiting nearby beautiful gardens and gardening facilities.
Petal Pushers members all work together planting and maintaining the Petal Pushers Garden located between Heartland Real Estate offce and GuidePoint Pharmacy on Main Street as well as the new Visitor Center planters in downtown Longville. Visitors and residents alike enjoy strolling and admiring beautiful blooms, often with ice cream cones in hand. Younger visitors seem to be especially attracted to Bruno, the statue of a Longville icon.
The upright Minnesota Succulent display keeps a couple of members busy bringing the succulents out of their winter home, replanting, and maintaining this attraction all summer before putting the display and plants to bed for winter. Over fifteen types of Minnesota succulents are represented in this tribute to Minnesota and its diverse greenery.
Petal Pushers Garden Club welcomes new members. Here for just the summer? Have new ideas for garden tours or activities? Or curious about the complete 2026 schedule? Please contact Sue at [email protected]
