Outdoor rec gear swap hosted by Happy Dancing Turtle
Local non-profit Happy Dancing Turtle will host an outdoor recreation equipment/sporting goods swap from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 7 at the Happy Dancing Turtle office on the Hunt Utilities Group Resilient Living Campus, 2331 Dancing Wind Rd SW in Pine River.
At this no-cost event, participants may take items for free. You do not need to drop off items in order to take other items. Be aware the swap is intended for individuals and families—no resellers, please. Gently used items will be accepted beginning Monday, June 2. Examples of items accepted in good working order include sporting goods, garden tools, outdoor games & water todays, bicycles—see HDT’s website for details: www.happydancingturtle.org
“I’ve asked myself: do I own my stuff or does it own me?” said Jenny Hill, HDT staff and one of the organizers of the swap. “It’s funny, but also not. Having a cluttered house or garage can be draining on our mental health. Let’s give new life to items we no longer need, reduce trash, and get to know each other better!”
Volunteers are also needed to help organize items and run the event. If you would like to volunteer, or need more information about the event, please contact Jenny Hill at [email protected] or 218-587-2303.
Happy Dancing Turtle is dedicated to growing good stewards of the planet by providing education, programs, and experiences for youth and adults that inspire wonder and empower change.
