100 Years Ago
June 4, 1925
The State Bank Examiner closed the Hackensack bank last Friday. This is the second bank in Cass County in which funds have been tied up.
The State Highway Department has placed a camp near E.J. Atwood’s in Kego and it will be maintained until No. 34 is completed.
The Trelipe Community Club held their monthly meeting at the Snell schoolhouse. Ice cream and cake were served.
75 Years Ago
June 1, 1950
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hopen of Turtle Lake are the proud parents of a baby daughter born to them on Monday of this week at the Bemidji Hospital.
Hank’s Tavern and Oil Station located on Highway 371, where the Ten Mile Store was previously located, opens Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeLong of Onamia are visiting the Roy Probasco home at Blind Lake.

June 5, 1975
George Hausken has just returned to Longville from Milwaukee where he completed a training course at the Evinrude Motors factory. He is employed at the Musky House, Inc.
A September 20th wedding is planned for Karla Jane Miller and Kevin Tschida at Randolph, Nebraska.
A neighborhood rummage sale will be held on June 14th at Bock’s Blue Haven on Ten Mile Lake.

The Longville City Council is urging local and area residents to join them in helping “Make Longville Sparkle” as June 12-16 is Clean Up Longville Week.
With superior pitching, solid defense and timely hitting, the Northland High School boys baseball team brought home the school’s first ever Sub-section Baseball Championship trophy Friday from Grand Rapids.
Thomas Mitchell, 83, of Longville was born in Boy Lake in 1917 to Charles and Emma Mitchell. He was a native drum teacher and singer and participated in many pow-wows throughout the US and was also an Ojibway language teacher at Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig school. He died May 29 and is buried at the Boy River cemetery.
