Shelly Fox, a longtime visitor to the Leech Lake area, turned her dream into reality last week with the opening of Pine & Paddle, a cozy new shop in downtown Longville. Originally from northern Chicago, Shelly and her husband, Roger, spent years vacationing in the area before retiring to the Longville Lakes area. Now, she’s channeling her love for the Northwoods into a store she describes as “a thoughtfully curated mix of vintage treasures, unique gifts, and locally inspired apparel.” Pine & Paddle is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Photo by Katelyn DeLost.
