   Pine River Garden Club will host its annual plant sale in conjunction with the first Pine River Farmers’ Market of the season on Friday, May 23 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Hwy 371 by the Pine River Depot on the corner of Barclay Avenue and Hwy 371 at the traffic light. 

   Many native perennial and annual plants are offered by the club members and are seasoned to the local growing zone.  Plants may include and are not limited to: hostas, daylilies, herbs, vegetables, rhubarb, Dahlia tubers and some potted starts, Canna bulbs, irises, Bergenia, Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate, Queen of the Prairie, hardy roses, indoor plants, raspberry canes, comfrey, Hollyhocks, and more.

   Club members are on hand to answer your gardening questions and offer information on the plants for sale. Proceeds from the plant sale go to support projects of the club.

   The Pine River Garden Club meets monthly March-October hosting a variety of speakers, garden craft projects, area garden tours, and socials to support those who love to garden and wish to learn more.  Each year they also help maintain a display garden in Backus along the trail in town and a memorial garden at the Pine River-Backus School in Pine River. Members have also assisted with the Pine River Chamber of Commerce gardens and area projects as needed. The wealth of collective knowledge and experience gets shared and passed down to any who are interested.  There is no member fee to join the club.
