Northland Lions mark successful 2024 and ongoing community projects
The Northland Lions of Remer ended the year 2024 with a total of $39,400 in donations. Donations are made on a regular basis to several community associations including the Remer Community Garden, The Source, The Family Center, the Ministerial Association, The Depot, Faith In Action, Toys For Kids and the Depot Playground. Donations are also given to Northland Community School activities such as the Prom, the band, and the baseball team. Funds are also donated to Lions 5M9 projects.
Funds are raised through the Annual Colorado Peach Sale to fund the Howard Prushek Memorial Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors of Northland High School.
The Northland Lions also host the annual Valentine’s Senior Dinner which provides a free meal to Seniors in our community and a great social time, with drawings for prizes as well.
The Lions are currently working with the “Bags To Benches” program to recycle used plastic bags to make benches which have been placed on Main Street of Remer. Currently we have received four benches and a fifth bench is on the way. Remer and Longville Lions are working together on this project. The Longville Lions have received one bench to date.
The Northland Lions appreciate the support that the community has given for their projects.
