Comments requested on proposed Pine River One Watershed One Plan
The Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District requests public comment on the proposed Pine River One Watershed One Plan (1W1P) amendment. To view the proposed changes to the Pine River 1W1P visit https://www.crowwing.gov/1476/One-Watershed-One-Plan-1W1P. Written comments will be accepted until Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Comments can be submitted to Crow Wing SWCD for all Pine River Watershed residents (Cass or Crow Wing, see attached map). Comments may be submitted at https://arcg.is/1arfm81 or emailed to [email protected].
Facts about the Pine River Watershed:
• Supplies 15 million people with clean drinking water (St. Cloud to Illinois)
• Over 500 lakes
• Primary towns include Backus, Pine River, Breezy Point, and Crosslake
• Parts of Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, and Hubbard Counties
This voluntary program is administered through the Board of Water and Soil Resources. Cass County, Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), Crow Wing County, and Crow Wing SWCD teamed up to develop this plan. A 10-member voluntary advisory committee helped develop the proposed amendment to the Pine River 1W1P. Partners will complete plan action items that are measurable and trackable to enhance and protect the watershed.
