   The Northland board meet for a special meeting on Weds., Apr. 30 to accept a Letter of Intent to Discontinue her Interim Superintendent Contract from Mary Yakibchuk, upon its expiration date of June 30, 2025. The board also approved, upon completion of the Interim Superintendent Contract, returning Mary Yakibchuk to her regular District assignment as Principal, per the 2025-2027 Master Agreement between ISD #118 Principal’s Association and Northland Community Schools.

   A Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA) representative then addressed the board on the next steps in regards to the search for hiring a Superintendent. A timeline was laid out with the following deadlines: applications are now being accepted until May 18 with the board then reviewing applicants through Memorial Day. A special meeting for the board will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Tues., May 27 to finalize applicants to interview with the first round of interviews being held May 28 and May 29. With Yakibchuk’s last day as Interim Superintendent being June 30 the board will need to have a new Superintendent in place by July 1.

   The board also discussed what questions they would like included on the application and went over the two page job description.
