The Backus Lions welcomed a representative from the Minnesota Lions Hearing Foundation, who shared updates on the organization’s efforts to combat hearing loss during their meeting on June 5. After the presentation, the club presented a $100 check to Lion Dick Kimball, a Park Rapids Lions member and Hearing Foundation trustee. The funds were raised during the Backus Lions’ D-Feet Hearing Loss Walk on May 31. The Foundation recently acquired a new hearing testing machine, and members had the chance to try it out. The photo on top shows Kimball testing a member’s hearing as others observed the device in action. In the photo on the bottom, D-Feet Walk Chair Cora Hohnstadt presents the check to Kimball. The meeting offered both valuable information and a hands-on look at hearing health technology. Photo submitted.
