Following the Hackensack Hub’s monthly potluck, Maddi Nistler from the National Loon Center in Cross Lake spoke to the crowd. She shared that the Center is a non-profit and focuses on the life and habitats of loons. It was especially interesting as this is the time when loons are returning to our many local lakes. She discussed nesting habits, calls and what we can do to protect our loons. The next monthly meeting of the Hackensack Hub will be a member and future member potluck at noon on May 15.
