We hear that Theodore Wolburt and Lola Mills of Pine Lake were married recently.
A dance and basket social will be held at the Blind Lake school on October 4th.
John Hamilton is busy this week getting the telephone lines in order at Ponto Lake.

Sept. 30, 1949
The new Salem Lutheran Church of Longville will be dedicated October 2nd. The congregation moved the church from Inguadona.
Earl Utke, 34 and Frances Emery, 26 applied for a marriage license.
Mr. Harry Hardy has accepted the job as janitor at the Longville High School.

Oct. 3, 1974
Duane Gilmer, Longville, shot a large black bear while hunting about 15 miles east of town. It field-dressed at 467 pounds.
RC’s Supper Club, Bar and Café will hold a jam session on October 6th with 10-20 top bands from 3 p.m. to closing.
The Woman Lake Book & Thimble Club will host the Cass County Federation at Bromley’s Ten Mile Inn.

Camp Olson’s easement grant is first of its kind in Minnesota. It’s a 195 parcel of diverse environmental assets including upland aspen, hardwood and pines and over 4,000 feet of shoreline.
June Hopkins , 77, died September 29th. She was born to Mary and Frank Schultz, Jr. She worked in the Nebraska Military Depot during WWII. She married George Hopkins in 1941, and they returned to Remer.
Lucy Kivette was recently named in the Nationwide Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Businesses. She is the proprietress of Stone Woman Herbals in Longville.
