Workmen are at Onigum to complete a tuberculosis hospital for the Chippewa at a cost of $50,000. They will remodel an old dormitory and porches will be added.
A fire in Federal Dam destroyed D.A. Clabaugh’s General Store and Walter Amrine’s lunchroom and confectionery, and an icehouse.
Dr. Slatterly made a trip to Squaw Point in the new boat, the Leech Lake Flyer with engineer, Walter Blackburn.

Flora Mae Kibbler has been helping out at Cabin Camp Resort in her spare time at Boy Lake.
The Junior/Senior prom will be held Saturday evening, May 28th in Room 3 of the Boy River school.
Forty-three Blind Lake residents attended a farewell party for the Neil Landervilles last Thursday. They are moving to Barnesville, Mn where he has employment.

Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards and family from Minneapolis were guests at the Bud Edwards home on Memorial weekend.
Sally Hafner of Mule Lake and Harry O’Barski of Wabedo Lake were married January 19th in Florida.
Mrs. Myrtle Townsdin and daughter left Hackensack to make their home in Colorado.

Lillian White was born March 5, 1928 to William Paper and Katie Sherman at Bear Island. She grew up in Brevik and attended Pipestone Boarding School and White Earth Catholic School. She married Hartley White. In 1972 they made their home in Longville.
David Strunk of Hackensack won a chemistry and environmental studies departmental academic achievement award at BSU.
The Swatara Store is now open and is conveniently located in the middle of nowhere between Remer and Palisade on the Soo line.
