   Hackensack welcomes the new season with a brand new city sign! The sign was funded through donations from the Hackensack Lions, Hackensack American Legion Post 202,Hackensack Lakes Area Community Foundation and the Legion Auxiliary. Jody Kane of Kane Electric donated his time to install the lighting and update the electrical components. Diana Grundeen of Trio Landscaping provided plants at a reduced cost and assisted in landscaping around the sign. City employees Rob Triplett and Colten Hicks helped with the landscaping and installation of the sign. The City of Hackensack paid for the excavation of the site and landscaping.

   The Hackensack Game Changers Sign Team began working on this project in June 2023. With help from Joshua Johnson of Upland Advertising & Design, a new design was chosen. It incorporates a beautiful sunset, towering pine trees and of course, it was branded by the addition of a silhouette of Lucette Diana Kensack.  Along the lower edge it reads “Home of Lucette”.

   The old sign was removed by city employees and the area was reconfigured to allow for weed barrier to be installed. On April 18, the new sign was installed.  The electrical and the landscaping has been completed.  

   A sign for the north end of town and two wayfinding signs are expected to be installed in conjunction with the 2025 Hwy. 371 project.
