   Northern Waters Land Trust is pleased to announce two upcoming workshops focused on cabin succession planning, “Your Cabin, Your Family, Your Legacy.” These workshops aim to inform families on navigating the complexities of passing down their cherished cabin or shoreland property to the next generation.

   Workshops will be held on: 

 • Wednesday, June 12th, 2024 | 3:30pm to 5:00pm | Crosslake

 • Thursday, June 13th, 2024 | 3:30pm to 5:00pm | Longville

   Participants will have the option to participate either in person or virtually, as the workshops will be offered in a hybrid format.

   Family cabins and shoreland properties often hold significant sentimental and financial value, making proper succession planning crucial. During the workshops, experts will provide an overview of various legal and estate planning tools available for transferring ownership of such properties. Participants will gain insight into the consequences of neglecting succession planning, common scenarios, and multiple options for ensuring a smooth transition of property ownership.

   Additionally, Northern Waters Land Trust will present various conservation options for participants to consider when planning for the future of their properties, emphasizing the importance of preserving the conservation values - natural landscapes and habitats - for future generations.
