Northland Minnesota School Paraprofessional Wins (REACH) Award


   Lori Sizenbach, a District Computer Technician for Northland Community Schools and member of Minnesota School Employees Association, was honored in Washington D.C. as one of the 2024 Recognizing Excellence and Classified Heroes (REACH) Award winners. The REACH award is presented to five exceptional individuals from various regions of the country who exhibit outstanding and motivating deeds in their schools and communities. This annual award aims to acknowledge the excellent work displayed by classified school employees.

   Lori is an esteemed voice in her community, known for her commitment to fairness and respect in the workplace. She encourages collaboration and promotes a harmonious work environment. Her efforts have resulted in the creating a collaborative relationship with her district, and her colleagues trust her to provide guidance and support.

   Lori’s dedication to her community and her colleagues is exemplary. She has served in various roles in the local unit, such as vice steward, secretary, treasurer, membership steward, and negotiation team member. Lori has been an EMT for 27 years and inspires those she comes in contact with daily. As one coworker stated, “Lori is an excellent role model who inspires others to work collaboratively, demonstrates initiative, and promotes a respectful work environment.”

   Lori is highly respected by her peers and by her union members. She is an exceptional leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as Chief Steward. Her contributions to the MSEA Board of Directors, committee assignments, and regional assignments have been invaluable.

   The contributions of classified educational support employees are irreplaceable and essential to the success of our education system. They work tirelessly to ensure that our students receive the best possible education and support. From keeping our schools safe and clean to providing emotional and academic support, these dedicated individuals are the backbone of our education system. Their unwavering commitment to students and their communities is truly inspiring, let us continue to recognize the critical role they play in shaping the future of our nation.
