Workshop Series for Production Growers Offered by Happy Dancing Turtle
A workshop series targeting production growing kicks off March 29 at Happy Dancing Turtle on the Hunt Utilities Group Resilient Living Campus in Pine River. Join HDT staff Jim Chamberlin and Dave Wilson to explore three topics that can have a big impact on growing produce at scale.
Farmers, market gardeners, homesteaders, and anyone else interested in production growing are welcome. “These workshops are being provided based on feedback from area market farmers and are designed to meet the mission of Happy Dancing Turtle, to grow good stewards of the planet,” said Jim Chamberlin.
“Efficient and Effective Farm Design” is the first workshop in the series, happening Friday, March 29 from 2-5 p.m. Learn the principles of permaculture design and how they can benefit your farm or homestead, as well as the natural environment. Real world examples of these principles will be highlighted and then we will break into small groups to explore how these principles might fit into your landscape and farm system. .
The other workshops in the series include “Soil Health 101” on April 26 and “Irrigation – Water Smart(er)” on May 17. The cost of each workshop is $25. For more information about this event and to register, visit https://www.happydancingturtle.org/for-growers-and-farmers.
