   The Take Heart Program, with support from the St. Joseph’s Foundation in Brainerd awarded an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to Faith in Action for Cass County in January.

   On January 31st, Colette Fitterer, an ER Nurse and Take Heart Program Coordinator provided a short training to Faith in Action staff and volunteers on AED maintenance and operation along with instructions on how to perform Hands-only CPR.

   “AED units are important life-saving tools and we are proud to have one at the Faith in Action office in Hackensack,” stated Executive Director Theresa Eclov. The AED will also go out with the Home Repair and Ramp Building crews on their projects.

   Faith in Action for Cass County is a nonprofit charitable organization that provides volunteer services to older adults, people with disabilities, and those in need of neighborly help in Cass County.  Faith in Action volunteers help with transportation, friendly visits, caregiver respite and resources, chores, light housekeeping, critical home repairs and ramp building.  Faith in Action Volunteers choose their own time and level of providing assistance, and receive training, liability insurance and mileage reimbursement.  For more information about Faith in Action, please call at 218-675-5435 or check out our website at www.faithinactioncass.com.
