Edward Johnson, policeman at Onigum, returned from a week’s vacation from his duties.
The hail storm that visited Kego township last week did quite a bit of damage to crops.

Haack’s Resort on Birch Lake was sold this week to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Henerson of Illinois.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beals of Montana have been visiting both sets of parents, the Leslie Beals and the Robert Beals at Blind Lake.
Raymond Bruce Bullion and Iris Elaine Emery, both of Whipholt, applied for a marriage license.

July 18, 1974
Congratulation to Miss Laura Abbott who was crowned “Sweetheart” for Hackensack for the coming year. Miss Kris Harrington was runner-up.
Eighteen young people from Longville, Remer, and Outing had charge of the morning worship services at the Community Church in Longville.
Melissa Ann Dell was born July 9th and weighed 6 lbs. and 9 oz. This is the first grandchild of Myron and Iva Dell of Longville.

Dick Spanjer was born April 8, 1904 in Leeuwarden, Holland. He came to the US with his parents and moved to Inguadona township where he married Thelma Vangen in 1930. He farmed until he retired in 1966.
Boy Lake township is having their 6th annual potluck picnic at the township hall and this picnic is dedicated to J.D. Connell for his 28 years of service to the community.
The Boy River Zion Lutheran church will remember its past and celebrate its future with the dedication of its new sanctuary on August 8th.
