July 3, 1924
Mr. Brevik left Longville Monday to continue his work as a traveling salesman.
A party and dance was given by Mr. and Mrs. Bluhm at their home Saturday evening and a midnight supper was served.
Riley Carpenter and son Harry expect to leave for North Dakota next Saturday.

July 1, 1949
A much-needed village hall is under construction in Federal Dam.
Mr. and Mrs. Speed and family have moved from Remer to Federal Dam. He is the new barber and is occupying the former Morth’s barber shop.
The Yeagers of Hammond, Indiana are guests at Brunotte’s Resort on Girl Lake.

July 4, 1974
The Turtle Lake Tigers 4H Club met June 10th. VP Rodney Nelson called the meeting to order. For entertainment, Gwen Nelson, Lisa Piprude and Barb Yeats will dance.
Mrs. Jessie Sjoblom moved back to her home in Remer after spending the past few months at Walker.
John Sumption on a Hodaka 100cc motorcycle was the overall winner of the first Paul Bunyan Trials in Akeley and won the Enduro class.

Stanley Clark joined the CCCs in Oklahoma. He re-enlisted in Remer from 1935 to 1937 and then owned several businesses in Remer. He married Gnythe Horton in 1939. He worked for US Steel (1950-67) and drove school bus (1971-1978).
Six townships assisted the City of Longville by funding the construction of the new multi-purpose building for the Volunteer Ambulance Service, new city officers, airport rest area and public meeting room.
A storm cell that reared its ugly head in Fargo with winds approaching 80 miles per hour on July 4th hopscotched its way across Cass County’s Leech Lake, Townline and Boy Lake, Mable, Squaw and Sand Lakes west of Remer. Residents were without power for more than a week.
