Winter Activities Balsam Moon Preserve
Winter has arrived and while some prefer to hibernate others prefer the outdoor activities. Balsam Moon Preserve is offering a bit of both over the next few months.
For a little mental engagement and dialogue, they’ll host bi-weekly Zoom dialogues around a series of podcasts from The Great Simplification. The series features interviews hosted by Nate Hagens (a professor) with a variety of persons on topics of energy, sustainability, economy, ecology, biophysics, spirituality, social dynamics and more and how they relate to our current challenges and sustainability on this home place of Earth.
Discussions will be on Tuesdays, 6:30 to 8 p.m. every other week beginning February 6 and ending April 2. To participate you may email or call to register and Balsam Moon will email you a Zoom link. Simply view the episode prior to the date for discussion. Here’s a link to The Great Simplification:

The Annual Back to Basics by Happy Dancing Turtle and PRB Community Education event set for Saturday, February 17 at the Pine River-Backus School finds Balsam Moon set up as a vendor and leading a class on how to build a root cellar using Earthship style construction which uses old tires. You may register for this class via happydancingturtle.org.
Saturday, February 24, 3 to 6 p.m. will gather friends old and new for the Annual Bonfire at Balsam Moon with snow shoeing, snow sculpting (hopefully), and the large bonfire to warm up. Goodies and a cozy fireplace inside will help everyone warm up before heading home.

You determine the value to you for any class or activity offered, giving in accordance to what you receive.
