Chandler Delano Olson passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his family at 7:59 a.m. December 27, 2023

Chandler Delano Olson was born July 4, 1932 to Alfred H. and Anna Jergena (Imes) Olson at the Clarkfield, MN hospital. He graduated from Boyd, MN High School in 1949 and continued his education at several other institutions. After graduation Chandler began farming in partnership with his brother for several years. Later he purchased a farm of his own in Boyd, MN.

In 1955 Chandler married Marlene Hennen. They had four wonderful children, two boys and two girls.

In 1962 Chandler started Chandler Industries on his Boyd farm. After operating the business for eight years on the farm they moved Chandler Industries to the Montevideo Airport Industrial Park. (The first company to build in that development.) This move was important to gain access to an available labor force for the expanding business.

Chandler was an avid pilot and enjoyed flying various planes along with the plane he owned with his brother. Chandler was active in Montevideo, belonging to various organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Kewanee’s Club, Church Counsel and the Industrial Development Corporation.

Chandler was a 32nd degree Mason in the Shriner Organization sponsoring children to the Shrine Hospital. He also loved golfing, fishing, hunting and so many other sports.

In 1986 he sold Chandler Industries and retired. Chandler and Marlene traveled for a few years then built a home in Florida. They lived six months in Florida and six months in Montevideo. In 1992 he sold the Montevideo home and purchased a lake home near Hackensack, MN. Which is his current residence.

Chandler is survived by his wife Marlene of 68 years and by his children: Cindy (Verlyn) Schoep, Chandler Scott (Karen) Olson, Craig (Carla) Olson and Kimberly (Bill) Stelzner. Chandler is also survived by 12 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers: Herbie, Allard, Vernon and his sister Junez Ritchie. Also by his Mother in-law Lottie Bell (Pratt) Hennen and his father in-law Clarence Hennen.

A Celebration of Chandlers life will be held at a later date.
