Grand Prize Winner

   What a beautiful day, barely a breeze, calm lake, and the sun was shining brightly.  Unbelievable number of fish caught today, especially in the 10-15 year old group with a 7-1 fish to kid ratio.  Two young casters had to cast off to find a casting champion today.

Kids fishing contest ages 0-5

At the Hackensack Kid’s Fishing Contest Tuesday, August 6, 19 kids in the 0-5 year old group, caught and released 37 fish. Josh caught the largest fish (2.6 oz.); Melanie P. reeled in the first fish; Jorden V. landed the most fish (18); while Easton G hooked the smallest fish (3 1/4 inches).

   We had a visitor, Sydney from Lakeland News.  She was filming and interviewing and you can catch that segment live on Tuesday, Aug 6, or watch it online at lptv.org.

Kids fishing contest ages 6-9

At the August 6 Hackensack Kid’s Fishing Contest, 16 kids in the 6-9 year old group, caught and released 36 fish. Andre S. caught the largest fish (6.5 oz.); Annaleise H. reeled in the first fish; Owen K. landed the most fish (13); and the smallest fish was hooked by Marcus O. (3 1/8 inches) .

   Year end Sponsor and Volunteer BBQ is Tuesday, August 13 at 6PM at the Horseshoe Pavilion across from the Legion Post 202.

   The hot dog sponsor this week was Union Congregational Church (www.unioncchackensack.com). Thank you for all your help at the contest.

Kids fishing contest ages 10-15

In the 10-15 year old group, Tuesday, August 6, 33 kids caught and released 234 fish. Weston M. hooked the largest fish (11.5 oz.); the first fish was caught by Valarie L.; Logan S. caught the most fish (38) and the smallest fish (2 1/2 inches) was landed by Geena L.

   The dates for this year are every Tuesday, June 11th – August 13th, 2024 from 11am - 12:30pm. Be early to register before it starts. We look forward to seeing everyone that can make it.

Minnow Racing Winner
