   The Cass Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will host a shoreline pollinator event at Hackensack’s Rendezvous Brewing on Sunday, May 5th from 1 to 3 p.m. At this free event, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about preserving and enhancing their shoreline using native plants. These plants not only offer anchoring root systems but also create a thriving forest and riparian pollinator habitat. Cass SWCD will be providing native seeds for you to plant at home. Start your own pollinator habitat and contribute to the ecosystem!

   For the brew enthusiasts, Rendezvous Brewing will offer for sale their delightful Sunny Dream beer, brewed with local honey collected in the Longville/Hackensack area. Sunny Dream has a hint of citrus that provides a crisp, light beer that has its honey taste on the back end of a sip. As part of this event, 20% of the proceeds from the beer sales for the event will be returned to Association of Cass County Lakes (ACCL) to help offset the cost of the early summer shoreline bus tour. The tour is designed to educate local landowners about how to enhance their shoreline using native, deep rooted plants that can provide stabilization and a habitat for pollinators.
