October 4, 1923
Quite a number of Inguadona folks were out fighting fire in Remer township this past week. The fire is under control now.
C.A. Walker and wife of Boy River were Sunday visitors at the W.R. Walker cabin on Wabedo lake.
The Brevik post office was moved to Leon’s store on Leech Lake Oct. 1. Breviks asked to be released of the duty some six months ago.

October 1, 1948
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Preble have moved from Boy Lake to their new farm near Deer River.
The Boy River PTA held their first meeting September 23rd. Mr. Eickstad, eighth grade teacher from Federal Dam, played several selections on the piano.
Mr. and Mrs. John Russell, Mrs. Bill Sjoblom and Carl Nicklason were callers at the Jack Miller home at Grand Rapids Sunday afternoon.

October 4, 1973
Robert Nicklason of the Security State Bank of Remer was elected Cass County Director for District 6 of the Minnesota Bankers Association on September 25th.
The Past Presidents Parley of the American Legion Auxiliary of Hackensack, Unit 202, met at Huff’s restaurant September 25th for their annual luncheon.
The Autumn Age Citizens’ club met at the school house in Federal Dam on Tuesday for a potluck dinner and business meeting.

Judy, Pat, and Mary Lou, at Woodland Bank are so excited about the new drive-up teller lane. If you use the drive-up between 11 and 2, Brian Nicklason, Larry Hendershot or Cal Carpenter will wash your windshield.
Walker, Remer, Longville, and Pine River played host to 170 classic cars during the Fall Leaf Run held Saturday throughout the county.
The new Longville Public Library, Inc. has been formed for library expansion. Longville is the smallest community in Minnesota to have a public library.
