Kitchigami Library System welcomes author Kevin Lovegreen

Do you know any kids that are interested in hunting and fishing?  If so, they won’t want to miss Kevin Lovegreen, author of Lucky Luke’s Hunting Adventures series, touring the Kitchigami Regional Library System (KRLS) Tuesday, October 3 to Saturday, October 7.

In his award-winning series, young readers follow Lucky Luke on amazing hunting and fishing adventures.  Kids will feel the excitement of climbing a mountain in Colorado and seeing a bull elk at the top, and having a northern pike jump out of the water with their lure stuck in its mouth. He’ll be talking about how he writes stories and then test the audience’s knowledge with his Famous Animal Call Challenge. As a world-class speaker, Lovegreen uses his unique outdoor theme to inspire, teach and entertain kids.

KRLS would like to thank our area school partners for helping to bring this program to their students! Author visits create a lasting impression.  They build relationships between kids and the written word, inspire them to pursue creative endeavors, and connect lessons learned in the classroom with the wider world. They also create interest in books and reading in general! All schools will be receiving a full collection of his picture and chapter books to get kids excited to meet a real-life published author. His books are also available at any of our KRLS libraries by accessing our library catalog at krls.org.

Kevin Lovegreen will be visiting Wadena, Sebeka, Brainerd, Crosslake, Pequot Lakes, Pine River, Walker, Blackduck, Bemidji, and Park Rapids during his tour.  This program is FREE and open to the public.

Contact your local library for more information or visit our website at www.krls.org.

This free Legacy Program is funded in part or in whole with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008 which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota’s arts and cultural heritage.

Local Tour Schedule:

Thursday, October 5, Pine River-Backus Elementary School 9:00 a.m., Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Elementary School 1:15 p.m.
