September 13, 1923
Miss Florence Brevik left Sunday for Bear River where her school starts Monday.
Several ladies are attending high school in nearby towns: Dorothy Jordan and Gertrude Kline at Remer; Grace and Pearl Tabaka at Pine River; Irene Johnson at Backus, and Ardis Carpenter at Pequot.
George Ellis and family arrived last Friday from Ponsford. He will take charge of the Episcopal church at Onigum.

September 10, 1948
The Longville baseball team traveled to Webster, WI for a game with the Webster team. Ted Jordan, former Longville team member, now plays for Webster.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Miller announce the marriage of their daughter, Norma, to Robert Wolske, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wolske at Cass Lake on September 4th.
J.T. Jim Scott first came to Longville in 1923 and was the owner of Samoset Lodge until May 11, 1946. He planted the first walleye fry in Hunter Lake in 1926. He holds the Field and Stream Walleye Award for his fish weighing 13 lbs. 3 oz.

The Westcott families of Federal Dam are moving back to Harvey, Illinois for the winter.
Lawrence Pound retired from the USFS and was presented with the traditional axe. He came to Cass County just after “the fires of 1918” and worked for nearly 3 decades.

The Senior Citizens of Remer would like to thank the Remer Northland Lions for the generous $1,500 donation to our lunch program.
Chuck and Dottie Waterhouse and Al and Louise Bintz were recognized by the Longville Young-at-Heart Club for organizing the club’s summer activities, including the “Weenie Wagon” and the Chamber of Commerce Info booth.
Longville Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce President-elect, Wayne Johnson, and Chamber Coordinator John Weins reviewed the performance of the association at its fall dinner at the Wabedo Inn.
