   Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk reports that K9 Ryker continues his road to a full recovery after the assault incident on September 17th, 2023. Ryker has been receiving treatment and exceptional care for injuries at the Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota. Ryker’s CT scan revealed a fractured snout and eye socket, broken teeth, and several lacerations, has been receiving treatment and surgery on these injuries, and will return to work in the near future. 

   The Cass County Sheriff’s Office would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of those who have sent notes, cards, comments, well wishes, and gifts during this time of recovery. A special thanks to retired Investigator Mike Diekmann for leading a fundraising effort and the numerous businesses and individuals who donated financially to assist K9 Ryker with ongoing recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
