For the past 20 years, Saint Edward’s Women’s Council has worked with Global
Health Ministries to provide health supplies to under-resourced countries. Global Health Ministries is a non-profit ecumenical organization working through out the world. Each summer the Women’s Council has assembled new born kits and Hospice kits which are then sent to Global Health Ministries in the Twin Cities. From there, the kits are moved on to the various countries and regions that will use them.
Another mission the Women’s Council works with is at Eagle Butte, South Dakota. The mission sends a list of needed items for their outreach programs. The Council will gather the necessary items, package them, and mail the kits to the mission.
Gladys Berger, a Women’s Council member and chair of the mission work states, “None of this work could be accomplished without the help of the entire
Women’s Council and the generosity of the church community. It is in working together that we can do so much.”
The Council prints a list of needed items in the church bulletin, and they post a list on the church bulletin board.
The Women’s Council meets the second Wednesday of the month, 9:00, at Saint
Edward’s Catholic Church.
