October 18, 1923
Harry Camp of Boy River and the Island is our telephone man, and he has just purchased a new Ford to assist him in his business.
A fire last Monday did a lot of damage in Kego and Boy Lake. Buildings were lost at Will Yochum’s place, a barn on the McKinley place, Victor Jasmer’s house, stacks of hay at Aultman’s, and Starling’s crop of hay.
Ralph Aldrich and Monetta House of Boy River were married in their new home in Michigan.
75 Years Ago
October 15, 1948
A house is being built at Blind Lake on the Jim Eibes farm for Mr. and Mrs. Vergil Eibes.
The Misses Winch and White, Missionaries who spent the past eight years at Onigum, have been transferred to Inger. They will be missed by their many friends.
Ardine Forbord took care of the telephone at Boy River for the weekend.

October 18, 1973
Last week’s storm dropped 6” to 12” of rain in Cass County. Fifty roads were impassable due to high water. Residents of Blind Lake township were hardest hit and were stranded for two to three days due to flooded roads.
Ray Fanth was appointed new Police Chief of Longville. He is originally from Remer and retired to his home on Inguadona Lake.
The public is invited to the Open House at the Margaret Welch Library honoring Mrs. Mina Mills on her retirement as librarian for the past 15 years.

Camp Olson YMCA will present a haunted house, hay rack rides, a bonfire and treats for the children this Halloween. This is sponsored by the Longville Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.
Richard and Velma Oberfoell of Remer and Ronald Dormanen of Idaho announce the engagement of their children, Kristi Oberfoell and Jeremy Dormanen, both of Blaine.
Agnes Peterson, Nov. 22, 1901 - Oct. 11, 1998, A summer resident of Remer, she also operated Cedar Beach Resort on Big Thunder Lake from 1946 to 1994.
