   Jeanette Welch, age 84, of Hubbard, IA, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA.
   Visitation will be held Sunday, October 15th, 2 - 4 pm at the Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard, IA.
   Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, October 16th, at the Zion United Church of Christ, Hubbard, IA.
   Burial will take place in the Hubbard Cemetery.

   Jeanette Ann (Blome) Welch was born on May 4, 1939 in Eldora, Iowa. She was the youngest of three children born to Ernest and Hattie (Ziemke) Blome. She grew up on a farm north of Hubbard. She attended the country and went on to graduate from Hubbard High School with the Class of 1956.
   On September 15, 1957, Jeanette was united in marriage to Jon Welch at the Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard. They spent the first six months of marriage in Tacoma, Washington while Jon was in the service. In 1958 they returned to Hubbard and went into farming. Jeanette was a farm wife and  homemaker and when the kids were older, she worked  at Colonial Manor, Hubbard Golf Course, worked in food service around Leech Lake where she also did cleaning at various resorts. 
   She and Jon cleared ground and constructed “Welch’s Lake Campground". She enjoyed playing cards, line dancing, going to the casino, arts and crafts, spending time at her cabin at Leech Lake, wintering in Texas, visiting with friends and spending time with her family. Jeanette was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and a former Red Hat Society member. Jeanette passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her two sons Mike of Hubbard and Steve of Jewell; three grandchildren Jeremy (Jamie) Welch, Spencer and Hunter Welch; three great grandchildren Peyton, Chase and Kallie; along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Dean Blome and sister Lois Hackbarth.
