November 8, 1923
Pete Spatgen moved into his new house a quarter of a mile northeast of Boy River. Mr. Hunt, the depot agent, now occupies the house vacated by Mr. Spatgen.
Frank Foote had a carload of apples shipped in last week and they went real fast.
Ray Thorsen and Lars Jordan visited with Robert Manders Saturday afternoon.
75 Years Ago
November 5, 1948
Purchasers of 1940 vehicles must have license plates on both front and rear attached to their cars. During the War only one plate was required. Bumper brackets are now plentiful.
The Catholic Church in Hackensack was successfully moved to its new location in the north end of the village.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Inguadona church for Mrs. John Vangen.

November 8, 1973
Earl Hammond and Sasha the Bear, stars of the new Hamm’s Beer commercials, were at Chik-Wauk Lodge at the end of the Gunflint Trail, filming the two in a boat frolicking through the Land of Sky Blue Waters.
Mrs. Dorothy Horton has sold her home south of Remer on Hwy. 6 and purchased from Cecil Teter the former Wm. Wilcowski place.
Mrs. Will Shepard attended the 25th wedding anniversary party of Theophil and Lola Semmler. There was a good crowd.

November 10, 1998
Remer sixth grade students were provided a horse-shoeing demonstration by farrier, Bruce Campbell.
Longville Elementary school students will invite a special person in their lives to come and eat lunch with them on November 17th.
Longville finally got street signs last week. Employee Duane Schock helped to install the poles and signs throughout the community.
