   The Hackensack Chamber of Commerce will again be hosting “The Children’s Giving Tree.”

The program’s goal is for the community to come together to help our local families provide their children with Christmas gifts. While there are no specific qualifications for this program, we ask recipients of the “Giving Tree” not be on any other area lists. It is important that all in our community and surrounding communities who need help, can be helped.

   All requests must be in by Wednesday, November 22nd to get the requests to the trees.

If you, or someone you know, are in need of gifts for Christmas please call or text Erica at 218-675-6683 or call the Hackensack Chamber 218-675-6135 with the following information.

   Please note the Chamber is not open daily.

   1. Full name, address, and phone number of Parent(s)

   2. First name of children along with their age (0-17) and their gender

   3. Wish list of items each child would like - please provide both wants and needs within reason.

   4. Clothing sizes - please note if your child has clothing preferences (color, style, etc.).

   Gift pick up day will be: Sunday, Dec. 17th between 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Northlakes Electric Bikes in the Heartland Center, 3605 Hwy. 371 N, Hackensack. If you are unable to pick up gifts at that time, please call 218-675-6683 to make other arrangements. A reminder call will be given to all recipients the week before the pickup date.

   This year the “Giving Trees” will be located in Hackensack at: Hackensack Do It Best Hardware; Mark’s Market; Swanson’s Bait; Southside Fuel Plus. In Backus at: Godfrey’s and the American Legion.

   Please find it in your heart to stop in and pick a name off the tree so each and every child in our community can have a Merry Christmas. Anyone wishing to make a monetary or toy donation can drop if off at any of the mentioned businesses or the Hackensack Chamber building by December 13th.
