June 28, 1923
Miss Hazel Henderson of Federal Dam spent a few days visiting relatives and friends in Plummer.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Yochum have started a cottage resort on Wabedo Lake and report a fine business during the past three weeks.
The storm last Saturday was very severe on the south shore of Leech Lake. Trees were downed and hail damaged roofs and corn crops.
75 Years Ago
June 25, 1948
Two Onigum boys, Gerald Graves and Clarence Allen, have enlisted in the US Army. Gerald is going to Illinois and Clarence to Texas.
Walter Klock came over to Harvey Countryman’s after lumber on Sunday as did Al Giese.
Percy Lyons, employed at Fargo, was home for the weekend.

June 29, 1973
David Chenevert of Minot Air Base visited his parents, the Vernon Cheneverts, after attending his brother’s wedding.
Bob and Iwana Green opened the “Woodshed” on the main street in Hackensack, and specialized in handmade novelties, cabinet making and furniture repair.
Kathy Manders flew to Bogota, Columbia, South America where she met her friend, Maria Conda and will stay with her family in Cucuta for about a month.

June 30, 1998
William “Bill” Condon was born in Akeley to Frank and Agatha Condon and attended school in Boy River, Federal Dam, and Longville where he graduated in 1940. He married Marijean Fuller in 1944. He worked at the Chevrolet Garage until 1966 and then for the city until 1984. He died on June 25th.
Longville Ready Mix has moved across from the Musky House on Hwy 84, 1 mile north of Longville.
Arrowhead Builder’s Supply of Longville has appointed Ken Sausman as yard manager. His wife Toni is employed by the Longville Clinic.
