With another school year in the books, it is time to take to the streets of Longville every Wednesday for the time honored tradition of turtle racing. The racing has been an annual enjoyment for the young and young-at-heart since 1967. Longville’s Main Street closes down at 12:30 p.m., in order for volunteers to set up the registration booth, games, prize table and to position the turtle race command post, “Turtle Mobile,” in the center of town. Food and beverages are available at area restaurants and by chamber member vendors on Main Street. Registration and contests begin at 1 p.m. File photo.
