100 Years Ago

June 14, 1923

   B.F. Clark is surveying near Pontoria.  Charles Raines is back from the Iron Range to spend a few days at home. J.L. Yochum and H. Yochum went to the Iron Range to work.

   Lots of people are poor subjects for a mind reader.

   A crew has started work on the bridge at the end of Little Boy Lake on the old railroad grade. They are tearing up the old bridge and putting in a new one.

75 Years Ago

June 11, 1948

   The Stearns brothers of Boy Lake loaded a carload of timber last week.

   Fred Frimuth auctions his farm off due to ill health. Farm has 85 head of livestock. Lunch is furnished by the Blind Lake Farm Bureau.

   Mr. and Mrs. Austin Graham purchased the Ted Clemons property in the western addition in Remer and moved into their new home on Sunday.

50 Years Ago

June 14, 1973

   Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rogers, Margie McLeod and Mabel Carlson of Inguadona attended the Old Settlers picnic in Bungo,

   The Open House honoring Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hare on their 60th wedding anniversary at the Bob Paul home was very well attended.

   Mr. and Mrs. Ryan and children from Duluth spent the weekend at Harry McKeebes and called on Maxine and the Daubers.

June 16, 1998 

   The Remer City council presented Edith Gilstead with a plaque in memory of Charles Gilstead for 11 years of service to the city.

   The US Achievement recently announced that Tiffany Wagenbach of Remer has been named a United States National Award Winner in Band.

   Northwoods Custom Meats of Remer owned by Doug Scheper and LeRoy Weimer, has received federal approval to sell custom and meat products to restaurants and other outlets.
