July 12, 1923
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlson and baby and Walter Yost of Keewatin, and Mrs. and Mrs. Tom Swankier of Remer spent the Fourth at the Robert Schultz home.
Mrs. Ed McKeig arrived home at Federal Dam last Thursday from Wisconsin where she has been visiting.
Frank Hardy and Pete Werman of Wabedo were Pine River callers Saturday where Frank purchased a new car.

July 9, 1948
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Huffman and children and John Hrdlicka spent Tuesday evening at the Geo. Engebretson home.
Bernard Duffney was to Longville one day last week and purchased a new Chevrolet.
Mr. and Mrs. Ketchum moved to Hackensack in 1936 where they operated a resort and greenhouse on Variety Lake.

July 12, 1973
Mae Baikie, who lives near Island Lake, died while attending services at the Community Church in Longville on July 1st.
A family reunion picnic was held Sunday at the Mina Mills home. Of the 75 people present all 7 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were in attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Campbell, and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schmidt spent the week-end at their house trailer on Leech Lake.

Win Scott was the Grand Marshal of the Longville 4th of July parade Saturday.
Evan Holloway, a sophomore at Northland College, was named to the Dean’s list. He is a 1997 graduate of Northland High School and the son of Donna and Terry Holloway.
