The Hackensack Lions Club sponsored an automated external defibrillator (AED) available 24/7. The smart monitored system sends an alert message to a command center when maintenance is needed for pads and battery, mounted in a stainless steel cabinet is CPR/AED instruction training. The cabinet is heated or cooled for the seasons. Cosponsors of the AED are Hackensack Legion Post 202, Itasca Mantrap Power Company, Hackensack Lions Club, plus a year maintenance fee. The AED is located on the south wall of the Chamber Building (100 Fleisher Ave). It is in the city park by the beach, trail, fishing contest and downtown Hackensack.
