March 1, 1923
Miss Tillie Beck who is teaching at the Snell School, spent the weekend with the Burkharts at Inguadona.
Those who took in the dance at the Blind Lake School were Ora Siltman, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kargel, Violet Murray, Agatha Hamilton and Alice Kargel of Ponto Lake.
J.H. Jasmer and sons are busy taking timber out of a tract of land under the direction of Mr. Fisher.

Jess Hilderbran left for an army camp in Illinois last weekend for examination.
Miss Georgia Byersdorfer of the Boy River faculty called on the McKeigs one day last week.
Walter Lilyquist and son Marvin and Mr. Brookman were in Walker on Monday.

February 22, 1973
Mrs. Wattles and daughter Valerie of Bemidji were in Federal Dam to help Anne McKeig celebrate her sixth birthday.
About 40 senior citizens enjoyed a dinner and Valentine’s Day party at the Happy Host Café in Remer.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Slagle of Cohasset were Sunday visitors at the Ted Tobiason home in Inguadona.

For 29 years, Coach Dale Hillstrom has been guiding cross country and track for the Remer/Longville school. He has been named Class A Coach of the Year by his contemporaries.
Helga Bergithe Boe (July 18, 1904 – February 16, 1998) moved to Remer with her parents in 1905. She graduated from Remer High and Bemidji Teachers College. She taught in Cass Lake, Grand Rapids, and Remer.
Longville made the Jeopardy game show when the question was to name the “Turtle Capital of the World”. Longville received this designation from the Minnesota Legislature in 1980.
