Sept. 22, 1922
Grandma Mary Jane Case died Sunday morning of old age at the home of her son George Case in Pine Lake township. Mrs. Case lived a long and active life, having unusual physical and mental ability and she accomplished much.
Ed Letourneau and Milo Olmstead, two experts with the Cass County road grading crew, were in Walker to get repairs for one of their machines.
The Board of Directors of the Longville Fair Association chose its officers for the coming year. Edmond H. Roby, president; Mrs. John Tabaka, vice-president; Mrs. Ralph Manders, secretary; George Woodley, treasurer.

Sept. 26, 1947
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Berger of Brevik are the proud parents of a baby boy.
The D.G. Crandall farm was sold to John West and Lee Oklund.
Mrs. Maude Snakenberg is now operating the dining room of the new Remer Hotel.
The Longville Fire Dept. is sponsoring a dance to be held at Nyvall’s dance hall with the famous Nite Hawks furnishing the music.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blais have purchased the Laundromat in Longville.
Glen Tufts of Hackensack, Amy Peterson of Walker and David Seelye of Bena have been accepted at Bemidji State College.
Minnesota Wild Rice Growers are fighting weather and hungry birds. The crop is good but excessive rainfall has prevented them from draining their ponds so they can harvest the rice.

Children from the Longville Elementary School spent the day in the school forest clearing brush, making a butterfly park and building nature trails and a bog walk.
Celebrating a year of progress in the City of Remer, the City Council, and the Remer Area Civic and Commerce Assoc. will hold a city picnic Sept. 28 at the city park.
