Sept. 15, 1922
The ladies’ booth at the Longville fair had a wonderful display of needle work and some very fine specimens of crochet work and tatting.
R. A. Oliver and family and A. A. Oliver and wife have been visiting at Remer this week.
J. W. and Lon Rice are doing some plastering work at Onigum this week.
Geo. Schlosser of Chicago caught a 25-pound muskie in Thunder Lake on Saturday.

Sept. 19, 1947
L.W. Orton sells his hardware store in Longville to Keith Likens. Likens owned Camp O My Dreams three years ago and also engaged in the trucking business and the making of cement block.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Morth of Federal Dam sold their household goods at an auction and plan to move to Washington.
Gerald Hilderbran and two other young men from Blind Lake left last week by car for Washington to work in the fruit orchards

An Open House birthday party honoring Freda Lilyquist’s 80th birthday, will be held on September 14th at the Clinton Lilyquist home.
Navy Petty Officer Third Class Steven Hoopman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hoopman of Hackensack, was promoted to his present rank and completed the basic Machinist Mate segment of nuclear power training at Great Lakes.
The Autumn Citizen’s Club met at the schoolhouse in Federal Dam for their regular potluck dinner at noon.

Bruce and Melissa Eckman of Remer announce the engagement of their daughter Stacey Lea Eckman to William Allan Wake, son of Allan and Susan Wake of Federal Dam.
Alice May Robbins, age 80, died September 8th. She was born in Remer, married James Robbins and moved to Boy River. She cooked for Lucas Restaurant/Hotel.
Hill City will have its first bank in seven years this week when Woodland Bank will open its doors in Hill City.
